Just a few short hours left...

I'm here at Houghton right now just finishing up all of the little last minute things that need to be done before I catch the bus up to Toronto. We'll leave here at 10am before our flight departs at 6 o'clock tonight. It seems a little bit crazy that I'm actually leaving for Africa today. I'm not 100% sure that I really believe it yet, but I'm sure I will as soon as I board the plane. And probably even before that when I meet up with the rest of the group.

It's certainly going to be an interesting semester. I'm really excited about all of the new experiences that I'm going to have: seeing crazy African animals, meeting the Maasai, getting to meet Absalom (the little boy that Tim and I sponsor), spending time with the Wolfs, etc. It will be wonderful, but I'm sure that I will miss so much about home. I'll miss my family and friends most of all, but I'm sure I'll wind up missing the little things that I so often take for granted too.

I guess I should probably organize my stuff a little bit more so that I'm completely ready to go when the bus rolls out of here at 10. Please keep us in your prayers as we travel. I figured that our total travel time, including the bus-ride up will be about 30 hours. Needless to say, it's going to be a long day.
